A site that once showed great potential, its original purpose was to allow [African Americans] a safe space to discuss a variety of topics, such as news, gossip, politics, etc. However the site has devolved into an echo chamber where reverse-racism is both practiced and encouraged. Vitriol is aimed at: 1) all non-black women (white, Asians, latinas, Arab, etc.); 2) [interracial dating], especially black men and women who date outside their race; 3) non-cisgender individuals. Regardless of the topic at hand, most discussions inevitably steer towards arguments over the inferiority of non-black women. What was once a site where the black community could uplift one another and amplify a voice that has historically been disregarded due to white supremacy, it has ironically engaged in the very behavior they denounce: looking down on all other individuals who do not look like them as inferior. If only their members could get over their [inferiority complex] and petty bitterness, this site could highlight and promote issues that affect and are of importance the black community, and provide invaluable insight into a culture that has always been at the forefront of history, but sadly not paid enough credit.
