Reasons for buying a low ranked account are that it takes 100 hours of unranked game time in order to access ranked and herald 1 star accounts are highly sought after for dunking on noobs. Reasons for buying a high ranked account are multi-faceted. Some people think they aren't at the rank they are meant to be for whatever reason (some believe in the forced 50-50 myth). This gives the player a chance to play with higher ranked games for supposedly better quality games.
