When individuals who work for crypto companies were let go when a crypto crash happens, their company Slack accounts would get deactivated, leaving a dead account with a recoloured profile picture. While people who are still with the company are so scared that they avoid using the word "deactivated" and change it to "da-ed", and therefore "daed". Coincidentally, you could also consider "daed" as "dead".
