The act of ending one's own life. It's not for attention - for if you're dead it's negated anyway, it's not cowardly or selfish. Only those who assume it is are cowardly and selfish. It's done because you're depressed. Depression is a disease, like cancer or diabetes. You don't ostracise or vilify someone for having cancer or diabetes, right? How's this any different? If someone [got] a disease from their own lifestyle you'd still not yell at them for it because they're suffering enough. Or if someone got a less serious illness like a cold or something and the day before they went [outside in] the cold without a jacket you'd still not yell at them. A "You should wear a jacket next time" at most. Something constructive, not [destructive]. And [you wouldn't] yell at someone for not telling you why they're sick, because they don't always know, and yelling at them makes it worse, for them and for you. It's [backwards logic] that if you want someone to open up to you, that you yell at them about not opening up or talking to them. A few reasons why someone may want to do so are: stress, drama, [overwhelmed], the loss of life, bullying, things going awry, people making you feel worse, places, actions, moods, thinking it is easier, moods, wanting to "restart," the past, or the future. These are all reasons. None are invalid, they are just tragic as reasons. If you or someone you know is depressed/suicidal, and you don't have a recognisable reason, it makes no difference on how bad it is.
