Short for cocktail party. Its a stuffy party where dudes go to meet other (powerful) dudes for financial gain usually by small talk, passing of business cards, etc. Wine, cheese and crackers, etc are usually served. Not to be confused with sausage party where unexpectedly more dudes show up than girls and all the dudes are there to meet girls.
