Argoniat is the feeling or vibe you get from old fantasy movies or series made in the 80s, specifically scenes in forests or jungles where the trees and plants look oddly specifically [real] but very [fake] at the same time. In the 80s they used [real] material to build movie sets or decors instead of digitally rendered visual-effects or green screens. They used to make forest or jungle decors by using cheaper materials like paper maché for stones and trees, and [fake] plants and vines. You can clearly see that a scène is shot in a studio, and that those decors are [fake] but it also looks oddly realistic because it’s made with [real] material and [fake] plants. This gives you a strange [odd] out-of-this-world feeling, which is why those vintage movies and series feel so magical. This way to make decors is also used in some old theme park dark rides that were build in the 80s, like the dark ride “Droomvlucht” in the Dutch theme park “The Efteling”.
