A cheap tactic in [Call of Duty] games whereby a sniper pulls up his scope when near an enemy and fires just as the aim assist kicks in, resulting in the aim assist dragging the scope to the target and giving the sniper an easy kill. It basically removes the need to aim the gun. This tactic was popularized by YouTubers [in the early] 2010s, resulting in legions of socially-maladjusted pre-teens, teenagers and [twenty-somethings], who were desperate to seem cool, adopting the tactic en masse. One of the biggest reasons for CoD’s decline, as 90% of players online these days are either hacking or quickscoping. They insist it takes skill, but they always refuse to turn off aim assist when challenged, thereby proving that the aim assist does all the work. Wouldn’t it be great to see them try to fire a real sniper rifle that way?
