An ancient word from [the 1980s] and early 90s used by straight women (or [homosexual] men) to describe a man who is 'hot as f*ck!' (well to them anyways). Similar to the phrase 'Cutie-Pie' for females it is meant to be both a laudative and a tease. The first part 'Stud' means 'sexy' and the second, 'Muffin' means 'scrumptious', so it [literally] translates into 'hot and delicious'. The phrase can also be used as an ironic 'term of endearment' for a someone who is NOT a stud-muffin by someone who loves them.
