A person born in Colombia or of Colombian descent. Colombians are typically of mixed racial background, but typically any mix of the native amerindian peoples, spanish, and/or africans who were brought over as slaves. Smaller but sizable heritages also include German and other [Europeans] and Arab peoples (Shakira Mebarak).

The english term "Columbia" shares a similar [etymology] but is unrelated to Colombia, and causes annoyance to many Colombians.

Colombians, [particularly] women, are renowned for their beauty.

Colombia is famous for its drug cartels that were most active during the late 80s and early 90s, which at the time made it [one of the most] dangerous countries in the world. Today, much of the violence has dwindled but there is still conflict with ideologically-driven guerilla groups in the remote parts of the country.

Not to sound too biased, but Colombia is a beautiful country, with a plethora of landscapes and varied geographies. Colombian people are friendly and love their soccer, parties, and family.

I doubt anyone can visit Colombia and not fall in love with it.
