awts gege is an expression used in the Philippines. It is used when someone found something sad and painful. It probably originated from the Filipino word, "awit" (which is also an expression, not the english translation of 'song'.) The word "awit" consists of two words which a Filipino grouped together (for whatever dumb reason that is). These two words are "aw, sakit" (BTW, the english translation for the word "sakit" is ouch.). so, combine them together: aw-it. (aw-ouch) Now, why awts gege? Simple: it's the word "awit" shortened (not really) added with the words: sige sige (gege or in english meaning: ok, ok) Now, combine it. Awts gege. (My fellow Pilipinos really know how to make words trend. Sigh. (:)
