Alexander Lightwood, also known as Alec Lightwood, is a [fictional character] in Cassandra Clare's shadowhunter series. Parabatai and loyal friends to Jace Herondale, his mother and father were members of Valentine's "circle" before realizing the terrors he could create. His [younger sister], Isabelle (whom he is very protective of) has a close acquaintance with vampires. But Alec himself doesn't seem to be able to find love until he meets Magnus Bane, the high warlock of Brooklyn. At first it is thought that he a strong [attraction] to his parabatai, Jace, but after realizing that it's against the law to fall in love with your parabatai, and that Jace is straight, Alec lashes out in anger only to find Magnus. He comes out to everyone by Magnus crashing his wedding to Lydia Branwell, and walking down the isle towards Magnus and kissing him. Alec is a hard working 23 year old man, who is dedicated to his duties as a shadowhunter, but mostly dedicated to his love, Magnus, and his friends and family.
