While the phrase can be used to describe the literal acts of showering, drinking a protein shake, and shitting (in that order). It's main usage serves as a broad descriptor for one's daily ritual or routine, which often involves bathing, eating, and excreting. Historically speaking, the 'shit' came before the 'shower'. However, the fact is that the shake (or food intake), must come before defecation can occur.
