This is the day which immediately precedes a person's 40th birthday. This is the height of a person's life experience as they will be over the hill the next day when they turn 40 years old. It is typically celebrated with songs celebrating hills and tops and is one last burst of color before the traditional all black attire for the over the hill observance. A person's Top of the Hill day supersedes any other person's actual birthday in order of importance and should be the larger of the two celebrations as this day happens only once in a lifetime.
