A nonsensical phrase coined by Comedian Steve Martin back in the 1970s from his comedy album "Wild and Crazy Guy" on how he would teach kids wrong words so that they would mystify their teachers. In his joke, he teaches a child instructions on how to ask to use the bathroom with the phrase "Mambo dogface to the banana patch?". The teachers would be completely confused by this phrase. Apart from Steve Martin, his phrase was also used by adults who grew up during that time to mimic "gibberish", like people trying to talk while drunk or having had a stroke or cognitive disorder. It would mostly be used by persons who were teens or young adults in the late 1970s who were familiar with Martin or Saturday Night Live during that time period.
