Its name is derived by the usage of it's most [common denominator]: the spam of ":3" in every fucking chatentry, also called the "nekosmiley" (neko = weeb. for cat); using nicknames containing "neko", "yuki" or other simplistic jap. vocabulary or simply taking the names of the protagonists in the latest hype-anime. Nekoposter often snatch things from anime and start to emulate it, an example of this being refering to other people with "chan" and "kun"; Nekoposters also tend to use 3 continous dots to exclaim their discomfort with a situation that they are too dumb to articulate with words, i.e. "...".

Often nekoposter find themselfes in a situation where their usual nicknames have allready been taken away by other nekoposters in which cases they add 'x'es to their names

i.e.: cuteNeko -> xXxCuTeNeKox3xXx
