Led Zeppelin is a rock band that formed in London in 1968 and consisted of Robert Plant (vocals), Jimmy Page (guitar), John Paul Jones (bass guitar), and John Bonham (drums). Led Zeppelin's rock music was often merged with folk and blues, and a lot of their songs were inspired by mythology and mythicism. Their first album was self-titled, and the song that really put them on the map for [the first time] was Whole Lotta Love. Not long later, [Stairway to Heaven] was released in 1971 and was named 'the most played song on the radio in 1972.' Led Zeppelin soon got their own record label, called Swan Song. They didn't only have a record label, but their own movie as well (The Song Remains the Same). Led Zeppelin had their last concert in the late 1970's not long before the death of John Bonham in September of 1980 after a long night of drinking. Though Led Zeppelin is no longer together, Robert Plant has gone on to create his successful solo career. Led Zeppelin is to this day considered by many people to be one of [the greatest] bands on earth.
