Around 1994, a "syquest" was synonymous with a 44 megabyte removable disk, sold by SyQuest Technologies. It made a funny clattering noise when you used it. The company came out with subsequent improvements, such as the "EZ135" 135 MB disk, SparQ 1.0 GB, and SyJet 1.5 GB. Their competitor, Iomega, succesfully pwned the EZ135 with the smaller, slower, but prettier and cheaper 100 MB Zip drive.
