“I just laughed”- commonly referred to as IJL, is a modern twist on the usual LOL or laugh out loud, and the “haha.” While lol works if you did, in fact, laugh out loud, it is not appropriate if you did not and is not always understood as genuine. “Haha” though seemingly innocent can often “kill the vibe” of your conversation. I just laughed is used when you have genuinely laughed at a joke, and you are trying to keep your conversation going.
