The act of providing information to police/LEO regarding a crime. The act of being a rat-goof. Specifically applies to those who personally know and associate with those who committed said crime, and inform on their fellows in secret, as opposed to an innocent/random witness contacting the police. Originates from times when a call from a payphone cost one dime, or 10 cents.
