Westie is short for West Roxbury, a neighborhood in Boston located in Boston's southwest corner was originally part of the town of Roxbury and was home to a 19th century experimental which made it a neighborhood of Boston. Westie is predominantly white Irish much like the rest of Boston but there has been an increase of black and hispanic residents in recent years. Westie has tree lined streets and mostly single family houses to give it a bit of a suburban feel but is still home to the normal red sox hat-wearing, beer-drinking, tobacco-dipping and frequently fighting urban knuckle heads. Westie has had "gangs" which are really just deliquent teenagers hanging out at billings and beating the shit out of whoever they felt like such as The Fruits and Vegetables who got their name because they were students from Boston Latin, Boston Latin Academy, and Catholic Memorial who worked in the produce section at shaws and roche bros. Westie is known not to be as tough as other parts of boston such as dorche, charlestown, and southie but has proven tougher than given credit for in various beefs and will always be tougher than suburban fucking pussies from towns like walpole, norwood, newton, etc.
