A ridiculouſly pretentious and obſolete method of writing the letter "s", when it does not occur in word-final poſition. Its uſe may lead to the poſſibility of abſolute bullſhit being interpreted as intelligent, ſenſible proſe. The origin of the ligature "ß" was the letter ſequences "ſs" and "ſz", where the two letters later merged into the iconic ſymbol of the German language.
