In the world of the Elder Scrolls, a Dovahkiin is a legendary warrior with the body of a mortal and the soul of a dragon. They are capable of absorbing the souls of slain dragons and using them to increase their own power. The word "Dovahkiin" comes from Dovahzul (the dragon language. "Dovah" means "dragon", "Ah" means "hunter", and "Kiin" means "born", so "Dovahkiin" could be translated as "Dragon Hunter Born".
