A phrase coined by the techno-industrial band Front 242. In fact before the term was commonly used by club-kids and rivet heads it was being printed on many Front 242 music albums near the tracklisting. EBM transformed from heavy drummed post-industrial to sounding something more like synthpop. To those not in the 'scene' it could be described synthcore: something inbetween industrial and synthpop electronic dance music.
