Originally named for rubbing wasabi or pickled ginger around the edge of the anus to make anal cunilingus more palatable when cleanliness is suspect. Today, however, it is a generic term referring to use of any intense flavored condiment such as mustard, pepper jack cheese spread, English Stilton, or horseradish for an anal flavoring.
