Used to describe any setting or character in a game, film, series, book, or other concept that is unnecessarily both grim and dark. Usually produced by the inexperienced or immature in an attempt to appear deep or satirical, grimdark settings or grimdark characters are a pale simplification of the harshness of the world, and tend to utilize a gratuitous amount of gore, dark clothing, juvenile metaphor, and ]autistic] notions of 'badass'.
