Preppy originated from the style of people who attend prep schools, now the use of the word has broadened, you don't need to go/went to a prep school to be preppy. Preps are usually wealthy and well off, they wear nice, expensive clothes because they can afford it, they vacation often, & they live the "privileged life". A few common brands preps wear are: - Ralph Lauren - J. Crew - Vineyard Vines - Lilly Pulitzer - Lacoste - Tommy Hilfigure Preps clothing style is Clean cut, polished, & classic. Preps are NOT trendy, they do not follow trends, and they don't wear cheap brands. Preps care about their education, they receive or aim for above average grades. Preps are confident and not afraid to be above the trends. Just because someone is preppy doesn't mean their parents or others family members are too. Some preppy sports are; - Tennis - Lacrosse - Field Hockey - Horseback riding Preppy is not just a style, it's a life style.
