1. A theoretical phenomenon and form of confirmation bias in which the human mind creates a distorted personal reality based on their own beliefs. It serves as an explanation for the tendency of prayer and other religious attributes to work and show up in a believer's own perception. This effect is caused by the tendency of the human mind to place more importance on proof for one's own beliefs than proof against them, allowing for a distorted reality in which the subject is correct, even if they are not. It is also possible that the human mind subconsciously distorts a person's perception such that what they believe becomes true. 2. The god or other entity created in one's mind by this effect.
