Any pompous, narcissistic behavior by a teacher, especially the practice of requiring one's students to buy copies of one's own book. Named for Gilderoy Lockhart, the character from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, who was pompous and narcissistic and required all the students to buy copies of his various memoirs.
