Cherry bump n. (Slang). 1. A sudden forceful impact or jolt, or one of a series of such impacts, to a user of a playground swing because of looseness or lack of connection of the swing frame to the ground. 2. Sudden forceful impact with the ground by a user of a playground seesaw because of a weight imbalance. 3. Physical Instability at the pivot of a pendulum which becomes apparent with movement of the bob. (Plural: cherry bumps) Origin is unknown. Term may refer in a vulgar, humorous manner to traumatic hymen tearing, but this is conjecture.
