An off-site file, thumb drive, or backup server with highly sensitive information to be used in the event of litigation, hostile work environment, EEOC claim, termination, a drop-dead-date, deadline or death. Information that is usually used by a whistleblower or other insider to seek justice or self-protection from incrimination by association. Also referred to as plan b, a burn file, or a scorched earth policy.
