To leave a group prematurely, often due to feelings of unfairness, isolation or uneven roles and divisions of labour. The majority group attempts to establish a meta-contrast between the leaver and the group, in some cases resulting in high profile media interest. Contrary to the intention of the majority group, a large external following supports the minority as they identify with the negative aspects and empathise for the reason of leaving.
