A sipping party is a social gathering wherein the goal is for adults to gather together for fun and to imbibe varying forms of beer, wine, and/or liquors they have not tried before. The host or hostess provides a small variety of drinks and location, foods, maybe games/entertainment/music/conversation topics. Each guest brings one or two forms of drinks. The drink may be something they have never tried, something that sparked their interest or an old favorite they want to share with their friends. This is a responsible and positive environment in which conversation and merriment is more the goal than becoming intoxicated. Side note: The first official sipping party was attended by a group of high school teachers in Tucson, Arizona in the fall of 2012.
