A magic girl manga series written by Arina Tanemura spanning 7 volumes. In ran in Ribon magazine, starting in February of 1998. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is the story of sixteen year-old Kusakabe Maron, a normal highschool girl who also happens to be the reincarnation of Joan of Arc. One night, the 'angel' Fin Fish comes to her with a mission, supposedly from Kami-sama (god). The mission is to seal the evil Maou (the devil) has planted in various beautiful objects in the world in order to steal Kami-sam's power. To seal the evil, Maron must transform into Kaitou Jeanne. Kaitou Jeanne, seemingly a thief, 'steals' the evil paintings and such, but, in reality, is only sealing the evil. For a while, the only interference Maron has is Miyako, her childhood friend and daughter of a detective. Miyako always trys to stop Jeanne from stealing the painting, but fails each time. However, things take a much different turn when a new neighbor moves into the apartment building Maron lives, as well as a new Kaitou. With the appearance of Chiaki, the new neighbor, Maron's life begins to unravel, and soon she is left questioning everything she has ever known.
