The result of a student carelessly receiving a zero on an assignment in the early stages of a school year, earning an F overall F. The student then is forced to spend the rest of the term digging themselves out of the "grade-grave" into the shining and glorious sun of an A-. Symptoms of grade-grave include raging parents, a heart attack in the 6-week report card, and constant sleepless nights spent calculating the various difficult paths to grade resurrection.
