The girlfriends, boyfriends and spouses of Roller Derby Girls call themselves “Derby Widows”. The term originates from the fact that Roller Derby is a sport as well as a faith-based initiative and can be very time consuming, leaving ones life partner "widowed". If you are a girl dating a Derby Girl, don’t try and fight it. You will probably become one too.
