1. Internet commentary or interactions made by unknown or unauthenticated users. 2. That part of the internet in which people operate anonymously free from discovery or consequence. Due to lack of consequence, traffic in the anonysphere may be more frank but also more insensitive, caustic or craven as well. There are many justified reasons for operating in the anonysphere that have to do with free-speech, freedom from reprisal, participation in alternative personality and role play. From this benefit comes the arguably less attractive symptom of bad behavior, personal baiting, racism, hatism, extremism. People are less extreme and confrontational face to face, perhaps even more human - but this is an opinion rather than a judgement. There is perpetual discussion about the role and benefit of anonymity on the internet (or the anonysphere).
