This is also called meiosis. It is the production of sex cells, or gametes. It is different from mitosis, or normal cell division. Gametes are Sperm and Egg cell. One gamete contains 1/2 the genetic information that a parent cell would have. At the end of meiosis, there will be 4 "daughter cells" from 1 parent cell. Errors in this process lead to conditions such as: - Down Syndrome - Turner Syndrome Klinefelter Syndrome and more!
