Inspired by Gonzo Journalism, is a technique to designing video games. The game is partly fiction, but has truth from the perspective of the designer. Blizzard entertainment is a prime example and maybe founder of this type of game design, since almost all of their games have a lot of inside jokes and real world references in their fantasy or science fiction themes.
