A style of barbeque, and resulting sub-culture lifestyle, indigenous to Florida. Originally, Florida-style barbecue was developed in the region around Orlando, utilizing the region's abundance of citrus fruits and tears from children frightened by Mickey Mouse at Disney World. Florida-style barbecue first came to national attention in the late 2000's, following a series of seminal research papers published by a group of Princeton academics in 'American Anthropologist.'
