This is the combination of four basic things which varies with the addition of various spices in accordance to personal taste. The basic ingredients are in order of mixing: 1. Hot water 2. Sugar 3. Molasses 4. Butter 5. Rum The sugar, molasses, butter, and spices should be mixed together into a batter and then mixed into the hot water, before the rum is mixed in. Hot buttered rum batter can be purchase from Trader Joe's.
