The act of lying face down in an extremely rigid state, with arms and legs straight, hence resembling a wooden 'plank'. Recent, hard-hitting fad in particular throughout Australia. Has been known to be lethal if participated in irrisponsibly, however the fad involves competition of participators composed of the danger/difficulty of the particular plank. Despite this, planking can be embraced by the begginner to the advanced, with potential planking surfaces ranging from the ground to on top of moving vehicles. However many plankers choose to rest the head on one surface and the feet on another, hence creating a bridgelike 'plank'.
