-To attribute machine-like qualities to objects, ideas, etc. (similar to "personify", only "machinify" is attributing machine-like attributes rather than human attributes). Often used as an alternative way of thinking, to better understand a subject or idea. -To view objects or ideas as having properties synonymous to machines. -To understand the structure and behavior of living organisms as being parallel to that of an intricate, working machine.
