In software development, carsonoma refers to a region of convoluted, dense, impossible to maintain, nonsensical code. Like the carcinoma in medicine, a carsonoma has mutated from good code to become gross collection of malignancy that threatens the entire application. Like a cancerous tumor, this region often cannot be excised from the code without killing the patient. Synonyms: clusterfuck
