A careless method of grating cheese by holding the block of cheese and grater high above the food, causing it to disperse everywhere but the intended dish. Characterised by fragments of grated cheese found everywhere around the kitchen afterwards - often accompanied by a larger, dry block of remnant cheese left out for many days after said cheese-grating incident. Particularly common in Rootes P 2nd kitchen, and generally anywhere inhabited by a German-Italian partnership.
