Germanware is similar to the the ancient Chinese ceramics often referred to as "China". Germanware is composed of porcelain developed in Germany long after the first types of ceramics were made about 11,000 years ago, during the Palaeolithic era. Often confused with Chinaware because of the similar composite materials but the Germanware materials were developed solely in Germany.
