Family surname centuries old dating back to early 11th century. Originally was a term used to indicate a family where inbreeding and inter family relations were common practise. Over time has lost its definition but the visual appearance and behavioural patterns of modern day Rigelhuths is still obvious to the casual observer. The 70s classic film Deliverance based the backwater mountain men, especially the banjo playing lad, on the Warlingham, Surrey Rigelhuths and you dont have to look hard to see the resemblance. They can all be seen on the social networking site Facebook in the Croydon or Warlingham region.
