Psi Xi Omicron is a [community service] based co-ed fraternity founded in 1989 at Daemen College, originally as a sorority. It was officially on campus in the summer of 1992. Psi Xi Omicron was organized because our 9 founding members [Valerie] Swartz Pumford, Mary Beth Schaeffer, Becky Long, Donna Fullager, Christine Coller, Jackie Toppin, Stacey Baron, Kelly Jo Robbins and Katherine Olochnowitz found that none of the existing greek organizations at Daemen College at that time served the community with such passion that they all shared. Psi Xi Omicron fraternity has always upheld the founding members goal of making [community service] a priority, and having fun while doing it together as a family. Through hard work, dedication, and the support of faculty and staff on campus, the founding members had created Psi Xi Omicron. The fraternity has since flourished into one of the most recognized and active organizations on campus, especially in the field of [community service].

In the summer of 2010, the active members of Psi Xi Omicron decided to open the sorority to men and become a co-ed fraternity. They did this because they wanted to accept new members into their group, and give men the option to join and become a part of something the members had come to enjoy and value belonging also.
