An auspicious night that is known to all that have seen the movie V for Vendetta. It is the date that a man named Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the King and Parliament in revolt against the government. He planned to use barrels of gunpowder as an explosive. The importance of this day is repeated in the futuristic portrayal of the city of London, which is now a police state. V, the antihero in the story, uses this date to show his displeasure of the current government by first blowing up the bastille. A year later, on the same date, he stages a revolt, to show the true willpower of a combined people against its government. On the day of the revolt, he(or rather his partner) succeeds in blowing up Parliament.[
