While at first glance, to utter the word the "NIGGA" would seem to some (those living under a rock for the last million years) as a definate racial insult, however the word Nigga, when spelled and said correctly, is nothing more than a term of endearment. The use of the word (spelled, N.I.G.G.A and absolutely no other way, ie: Nigger, Negro) is specific to the African American community as a means to take the dorragatory version, nigger and make it into something less insulting, racist or humiliation thus leading to the modern day de-sensitized version of the word. Until recently (10-12 yrs.), it was taboo for anyone outside of the black community to ever say the word. It would have been frowned upon and the person, not of African American orgin, would have probably been assulted for ever saying the word. Currently you may hear lots of different ethnicities using the word as the word has transended into a hip way of communicating within the, "new generation".
