A city in Central Florida that is located between Tampa and Orlando on the I-4 tech corridor. The city has recently transformed itself into a technology hub of the East Coast. Here, many start up tech companies have taken home and allowed the area to support higher educational facilities. Having a variety college students, the Lakeland Metro area is home to 6 regional universities. These universities include the University of South Florida Polytechnic, Florida Southern, Southeastern University, Polk State College, and many more. As a result of this influx of college students, the town itself caters to a mix of young adults as well as families. The nightlife is very diverse in Downtown Lakeland. On a standard night, the locals can sample Cuban, Irish, New Orleans, and sports bars. The hot dog stand is absolutely clutch in this town as it helps stop a hangover and serves any topping you want including chili and cheese. Brewz Crewz is a must as the city closes down its streets to cars, so that hundreds of people can participate in drinking as many beers as possible in public. Lakeland is known also for closing off downtown streets at night for first friday.
